Hengqin Second Bridge

The Hengqin Second Bridge originates at Hongwan, connecting to the extension of Nanwan Avenue via the Hongdong Interchange. It extends southward across Hongwan Waterway, then runs elevated along the West Ring Road of Hengqin New District, terminating at the Hengqin Interchange linked to Hengqin Avenue. The bridge is 33.5 meters wide with a total length of approximately 6.8 kilometers. It is designed as a six-lane, two-way expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h.

The main bridge features an exquisite and majestic design. Its suspenders hang like violin strings, while the arch ribs lie horizontally like a bow, showcasing exceptional structural elegance. This design not only complements the surrounding landscape but also resonates perfectly with the name "Hengqin" (meaning horizontal string instrument).

The bridge's lighting follows its contours, spanning approximately 800 meters and covering the main deck, approach spans, bridge belly, trusses, and piers. The project included:

• Installation of 2,570 LED flood lights along the truss nodes, accompanied by the laying of corresponding power distribution and control conduits.
• 1,600 meters of LED linear lights on the bridge belly, echoing the truss lighting.
• 150 LED flood lights illuminating the bridge piers.

It vividly presents the unique charm of Hengqin International Tourism and Leisure Island through dynamic color schemes. The upgrade ensures both functional illumination for traffic safety and aesthetic urban landscape lighting, elevating the city's profile and strengthening its urban identity.
